Whenever my hair feels dry and dull, I use this nourishing vegan hair mask to bring it back to life. It’s really easy to make, and you probably already have most of the ingredients in your kitchen cupboard.

It contains completely natural ingredients which infuse your hair with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and protein to help make it strong, smooth and shiny. If the dry winter air also saps moisture from your skin, you can combine this DIY hair mask with one of my 5 best shampoos for a dry scalp.


Avocado
Avocado is often referred to as a power fruit thanks to its host of beneficial properties. It contains four times the amount of potassium than bananas, as well as Vitamins A, B6, D, E, a variety of minerals and folic acid.
It penetrates hair cuticles to lock in natural moisture and helps keep your strands shiny and supple. It also contains a high amount of protein which your hair needs to stay strong and healthy.

Banana
Yes, you read that right. The next time you have a soft banana hanging around, keep it for this DIY hair mask. Banana contains Vitamins A, B, C, E, potassium, folate and natural oils.
It can help smooth and soften your strands and protects your hair’s natural elasticity to avoid breakages. Massaging it into your scalp also helps remove dead skin cells, infuses your skin with nutrients and helps reduce hair loss.

Coconut Milk
Coconut milk works as a deep conditioner and natural detangler, and also has antifungal and antibacterial properties. It provides a cooling sensation on your scalp and can help fight the yeast-like fungus which causes dandruff.
Coconut milk can restore dry, damaged hair which feels brittle by nourishing from root to tip. It has excellent moisturizing properties and contains a whole range of vitamins, niacin, folate and lauric acid.

Coconut Oil
You may already be familiar with the benefits of coconut oil, as it’s one of the best multitasking hair care products nature has to offer. It contains lauric acid, Vitamins E, K and antioxidants, and can help reduce protein loss so your hair stays strong and supple.
Coconut oil is also the perfect way to protect your hair from environmental, styling and heat damage, and can also tame flyaways and frizz. It has the added benefit of working as a natural sunscreen to also protect your strands from harmful UV rays.

Olive Oil
Olive oil works as a natural emollient and can helps smooth the outer cuticles of hair fibers as well as split ends. It has rich moisturizing properties and can make your strands feel healthier, stronger and shinier.
It’s a great source of Vitamins A, E and antioxidants, and protects the natural keratin in your hair so it can seal in moisture. Rubbing a little olive oil into your scalp can also promote new hair growth and remove a buildup of sebum.


~ Ingredients
- 1/2 Avocado
- 1/2 Banana
- 50 ml Coconut Milk
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil

~ Method
Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix well. The smoother you make the mixture, the easier it will be to spread through your hair and rinse out later.

Apply the mask all over your hair, working from the roots right down to the tips, and massage your scalp for a few minutes so your skin can absorb all the nutrients.

Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. You can either relax in the tub with a good book, or use the time to get on with other things. As it can get a bit messy, you can use a shower cap to avoid any drips.

Wash your hair with a gentle shampoo which is preferably sulfate free and thoroughly rinse your hair. If you have thick or curly hair, you might need to shampoo twice to get rid of all the mixture.

Condition and style your hair as usual. Once it’s dry, it should feel silky soft, strong and healthy.

I've been pondering whether I should post this blog or not. To be honest, I've been lost in my mind. It's pretty full. Full of shit. I figured that this post could be a good thing. Cathartic in a way. I also thought it might somehow help someone. Help someone who could be thinking and feeling the same things as me. Sadly, most of us have gone through life. Life has ups and downs. Sometimes, life gives you lemons. And this time, it left a bitter taste.

I'm a big lover of life. I always do my best to appreciate how lucky I am. I'm pretty darn lucky. I have a home, a devilish cat, a job I love and people who care about me. I don't think it gets better than that, does it?

However, I have grown mad at life. Don't get me wrong, I still get amazed by all the little things life brings but there is something about that rotten lemon, I cannot move past. I cannot process and adjust. I cannot wrap my mind around this rotten thing.


I guess this is the moment to stop eluding the subject. God knows, I'm direct. Sometimes, too blunt. On the other hand, this time, it's not easy. I really want to let people know they are not alone in this. I want to know that I'm not alone. Oh boy, how this hurts. It comes in waves and never stops.

Why? One may ask. I will let you on a little secret, my lovebirds...

I have lost my moon. I have lost my strength. I have lost a part of my life. A part of me died with her. I love her to the moon and miss her beyond the stars. She has made me a better person. She raised me. She made me who I'm and I will never be as good as she was. She was the kindest, smartest and most big-hearted person I will ever know.

With her by my side, I would never feel alone. She would always be there to catch me. She always had my back. She was more than a grandmother, she was my mother. She was my role model. She has helpt so many souls. I could not be more grateful. Grateful to have known and loved her. My life would have not been the same without her.

I'm not sure if anyone can understand. If you do, you probably felt the same way. That little crack inside. You have to hold your breath for a second. You want to press pause. You want to stop for a while. You cannot think of a world without her - or him.

And yet, you have to. This is only part of life. Life ends sometimes. There is nothing we can do.

As she would say : LA VITA VA AVANTI.

So this blog is an homage to my Italian blood but also to anyone who might be heart-broken too. Life sometimes gives you some very bitter lemons.

We have all lost something dear to our hearts. We have all been there... So when you're about to break, just know, that I'm here and I understand.



Life is simply like that. Things slip away and nothing lasts. So we might as well enjoy it while we still can.

Good afternoon my lovebirds,

I hope you're all doing very well on this Sunday afternoon.

You might - or not - remember that I've wanted to try Kat Von D's products since I started my blog. - Oh boy, how long it's been! Thus, I have something exciting to announce... I FINALLY MANAGED TO GET MY HANDS ON SOME KAT VON D PRODUCTS! YAAAYYYYYYYYYY! I feel like this haul won't be the only Kat Von D haul...

The famous brand finally arrived in France. As soon as it was out in my local Sephora, I couldn't resist. I might have gone a bit crazy... - I mean, did I really need 3 new lipsticks? I almost picked up the concealer as well but I'm trying to finish the one I already own first. - I know, I was as surprised by myself as you're right now. So out of character...

I purchased three Everlasting liquid lipstick :
from left to right: exorcism - lolita - double dare.

My opinion : I'm a big fan of the formula. It doesn't dry too quickly. It's easy to apply. - And oh boy, I'm terrible at applying lipstick. The only thing I feel is a shame are the lack of colours of the whole everlasting liquid lipsticks range. In my point of view, there are a lot of shades that are similar to what I already own. There is only 3 shades of lipsticks that I liked. AND YES, I GOT ALL THREE! #noselfcontrol I've put all three lipsticks to the test. They last pretty well on my lips. I only have to reapply it after lunch and boy, I drink way too many teas before lunch... The darkest shade : Exorcism ended up being my favourite. Even if, Lolita comes pretty close. Double dare goes with almost every makeup I can wear. My lips aren't too dried out after wearing it for a whole day. However, those lipsticks aren't easy to remove... Nonetheless, it's nothing a good Lush lipscrub cannot fix!

Do I recommend this product ? 100% yes! If you fancy yourself a brand new liquid lipstick and fall in love with one of the Everlasting liquid shades, then GOOOO GIRL!

Hey lovebirds! I hope all is well. I wanted this week's blog to be a review so here is my review of Too faced's, Born This Way concealer in very fair. I've fell in and out of love with this one. I guess every love story must come to an end. Some people just don't get happy endings. Maybe, I simply wasn't born this way at all... I'll now let you read all my deep thoughts and the tale of Serenbird & her born this way concealer.

My opinion : I've used this concealer for about a whole month now. The shade 'Very Fair' is a perfect match to my skintone. - I know, who would have thought it possible? We all know how much of a struggle that is...
I love how thick and easy to blend the formula is. I can build up my coverage. My dark under-eyes are almost completely concealed. What I found the best, was that even if it has coverage, it's still quite illuminating and not cakey. It doesn't look grey-ish. My eyes look refreshed and my under-eye is brightened. However, of course as no one or nothing is perfect, with time, it felt quite drying. - so a tone of eye cream would be needed. I guess even concealers can be let down. It left a bitter taste... I guess 'the honeymoon phase' ended too early...

J'utilise cet anticerne depuis un mois. La teinte very fair correspond à mon teint. Incroyable mais vrai! J'apprécie que cet anticerne soit assez épais mais aussi facile à moduler. Je peux ainsi choisir la couvrance que je désire avoir. Il ne devient pas pâteux. Et pourtant, j'applique à peu près trois couches sous chaque oeil afin de faire disparaitre entièrement mes cernes violettes. Son point fort est très certainement son côté couvrant mais naturel. Il est aussi assez lumineux. Une chose qui je trouve est rare lorsqu'on choisit un anticerne couvrant. Il n'a pas non plus un sous ton gris lorsqu'il recouvre mes cernes violettes. Mes cernes semblent dissipées et mes yeux plus lumineux. Cependant, j'ai pu constater, à force d'utilisation que cet anticerne a asséché mon contour des yeux. Il faudra donc ne pas lésiné sur la crème contour des yeux.

Do I recommend this product ? I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't have dry under-eye area as I found it a bit drying. Other than that, I'm pleased with this product.

Je recommande ce produit uniquement aux personnes qui recherchent une forte couvrance et qui n'ont pas les yeux très secs. En résumé, je reste plutôt satisfaite de cet anticerne.

Hey my lovebirds. I hope all is well for you. I'm trying to get back into blogging. It has not been easy. Time flies. It goes by so quickly. I always have a million things to do and so little time... However, I'm trying to stuck to this one blogpost per week schedule. It's all I can manage... - For now, hopefully!

Anyhow, I'm back with a small photo diary. I went to Paris for the new year. I spent the new year weekend there. It was sooooo freaking cold. I don't think I've ever felt that cold in my life. I was freezing. Nonetheless, it was beautiful city. If you follow me on snapchat, you probably saw how beautiful and vibrant it was. However, I've made a note to self : never go to Paris in the wintertime. I would also like to give a shot out to all those girls wearing no tights and sandals on New Year Eve... in -10 degrees Paris. YOU GO GIRLS! I have all the respect in the world for those fearless girls... I was cold for you, my darlings, with my cashmere tights... What we do for our love of fashion...

P.S I'm pretty sure I've eaten for - and maybe - all of us during this short weekend. #foodcoma

Hey lovebirds! I hope all is well. I've been testing Urban Decay's eyeliner. I bought it last month and I've been wearing it on two separate different occasions : - a whole day + a nightout
- during the day.

So here is my review of Urban Decay's Razor Sharp Eyeliner.

Brand description :

Introducing Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliner by Urban Decay, an intensely pigmented liquid liner that lasts all day and comes in an array of shades---from lacquered creams to metallic shimmers.

This water-resistant formula dries down quickly, provides long-lasting wear, and will not smudge. Its fine-tipped brush applicator lets you lay down sharp liquid lines so you can draw them on super thin or thick and bold, or even spot-reapply with ease. Then simply remove it with makeup remover.

My opinion : At first, I've to admit I wasn't a fan of this eyeliner. The very first time I wore it, I ended up with eyeliner everywhere as the day went by. So odd. So annoying. I don't know why but I've used it again a couple weeks ago and it did no such thing. Strange things. So yeah, I have mixed feelings about this product. It wasn't all that bad. The second time around it was quite amazing. It didn't budge. It stayed on all day and night.


Do I recommend this product ? It's not the eyeliner of the century. I wouldn't say it's a must but on overall, it's a pretty good eyeliner.

Hey my birds. I hope you're having a lovely time. I'm loving this winter weather. I love comfy and soft sweater, big scarves, booties and hats. So yeah, baby, it's cold outside and I love it.

I'm having a bit of time today so I thought I would chat with you. Christmas is almost here. Only a few days to go before the weekend. This year, I don't have a winter break but I have a little trip planned for next weekend and I'm coming home for Christmas.

I've not been home in months so I can't wait to see everybody. It should be fun.

I haven't blogged in a while and I've missed it so damn much. I've missed you, my lovebirds.

Let's get back on topic, shall we?

We all know how much I love rambling but well, I'm here to talk about Christmas. I'm not overly found of Christmas but I like buying presents for people and getting to see my family. I'm hoping this Christmas will be full of family time. Anyway, we all know how much of a ball of stress Christmas can be so here are my few tips on how to survive Christmas :

1. If you haven't bought all your presents - yes you're in deep sh**. Good luck finding a gift. There is always gift cards. We all know how much thoughts are put into those ahahah You might still be able to get NEXT DAY delivery though or you can always go into shops like the rest of us.

2. Eat light cause babe, your belly is going to be huuuuge in a few days. You might even have to eat twice your size... So prepare yourself physically and mentally.

3. There is 50% chance you'll have to sit next to that relative you absolutely hate and is always so damn rude. I would advise to keep your mouth full at all time or to keep his/her glass full.

4. To answer those annoying - and equally tricky - questions we always get at Christmas, I have only one trick, ladies and gents, surprise them. Go with the most choking, suprising, unsettling answer you could probably think of. I can assure you, it'll shut them up faster than you can slip that wine. Oh boy, it's so fun.

5. Chill, babe. That new year party is just around the corner. Besides, let's think for a moment about all the presents you'll get and how lovely it'll be to see everybody...
