Hey my birds. I hope you're having a lovely time. I'm loving this winter weather. I love comfy and soft sweater, big scarves, booties and hats. So yeah, baby, it's cold outside and I love it.

I'm having a bit of time today so I thought I would chat with you. Christmas is almost here. Only a few days to go before the weekend. This year, I don't have a winter break but I have a little trip planned for next weekend and I'm coming home for Christmas.

I've not been home in months so I can't wait to see everybody. It should be fun.

I haven't blogged in a while and I've missed it so damn much. I've missed you, my lovebirds.

Let's get back on topic, shall we?

We all know how much I love rambling but well, I'm here to talk about Christmas. I'm not overly found of Christmas but I like buying presents for people and getting to see my family. I'm hoping this Christmas will be full of family time. Anyway, we all know how much of a ball of stress Christmas can be so here are my few tips on how to survive Christmas :

1. If you haven't bought all your presents - yes you're in deep sh**. Good luck finding a gift. There is always gift cards. We all know how much thoughts are put into those ahahah You might still be able to get NEXT DAY delivery though or you can always go into shops like the rest of us.

2. Eat light cause babe, your belly is going to be huuuuge in a few days. You might even have to eat twice your size... So prepare yourself physically and mentally.

3. There is 50% chance you'll have to sit next to that relative you absolutely hate and is always so damn rude. I would advise to keep your mouth full at all time or to keep his/her glass full.

4. To answer those annoying - and equally tricky - questions we always get at Christmas, I have only one trick, ladies and gents, surprise them. Go with the most choking, suprising, unsettling answer you could probably think of. I can assure you, it'll shut them up faster than you can slip that wine. Oh boy, it's so fun.

5. Chill, babe. That new year party is just around the corner. Besides, let's think for a moment about all the presents you'll get and how lovely it'll be to see everybody...

If you have any other tips or any Christmas story, please do share in the comments below. I'd love to read what you have to say :) Thank you for reading and I'll talk to you soon x

Hey my loves! I have internet again. Yaaaay! Can I get an amen? I've yet to catch up on everything but I'm getting there. I should get a bit of time on Sunday to write again. I miss blogging so much. Anyway, I thought I'd be back with a lifestyle post on how to get things done. I'm a big believer of doing things ahead instead of last minute.
FYI : There is nothing wrong with doing things last minute tho... We've all been there...

As it is a busy time of year, here are a few tips to help you navigate:

1. Sit your cute ass down.

2. Shut off your tempting electronics - yes, it means your phone too. Sorry not sorry, dear!

3. Take a deep breath and focus

4. Write down all the things you need to do

5. BREATH AGAIN. - Yep, I saw you. For real this time, cutiepie!

6. Make some tea or coffee

Sit down again and while you drink your coffee/tea, try to define an order

8. Do the ones you hate less or are quicker to do first

9. Keep going, BABE! The sooner the better.

Good luck, lovebirds!

Do you have any tips on how to get sh** done ? How do you proceed? I'd love to know and I'm sure others here would love to hear it as well. Let us know in the comments below! Thank you for reading and I'll talk to you soon ♥ x

How to Achieve a Zen Life in the Tech Era *guest post*

Hi lovebirds! I hope all is well. This guest post was written by the lovely Roxana. She is a travel enthusiast and lifestyle consultant from Sydney. She is all about the healthy lifestyle, loves to run with her husband and dogs and has fun cooking exotic meals for her family. You can find out more about her writing following her on twitter and facebook. She is also one of the editors at Higstylife Magazine. I hope you'll enjoy this blogpost and I'll talk to you soon ♥ x

In today’s high-tech world, there’s a whole army of gadgets that help us do whatever we want much quicker and more efficient. Through over 2 million existing apps, you can basically store your whole life on your smartphone. But does the fact that our lives are becoming easier also imply we’re becoming spiritually impoverished?
Technology dictates how you spend your free time, it impacts the quality of your sleep and influences real relationships you have. The world is virtually connected more than ever, but it often leads to lack of real life communication. There are many campaigns that fight for people being more present in face-to-face conversations and laying off the smartphone. But sometimes, it’s hard to balance everything out and find serenity in this fast-paced environment. Here’s how you can appreciate the advantages of technology, but don’t let it control your life.

~ Pick a day to disconnect
There is a pressure to be present on the social media, and many users are experiencing stress because of it. People tend to seek online gratification, creating their online lives that are unrealistic and fake. We’re on our phones constantly: when we ride the bus heading home, we’re scrolling down our Instagram; in the elevator, we check our Facebook instead of simply waiting for our floor. Our tendency to fill in the time with screen time has become obsessive. Pick one day in a week when you’ll consciously disconnect: it will significantly change your overall mood. Use your cell phone the old way (only for calls and messages via which you arrange meetings), and spend a day outside, with your friends.

~ Rearrange your workspace
We live in a consumer society, where we are constantly encouraged to buy new things. This often leads to purchasing stuff you don’t really need, either because you got seduced by advertisers, or because you’ve unconsciously formed a buying habit. Material things can clutter our workspaces, leaving us restless or unproductive. Very often, you don’t even know your messy desk is stopping you from doing your job well and you might blame other things for your pale days at work, such as the lack of sleep or moodiness. Rearrange your workspace in order to find peace in your mind. Throwing away stuff you don’t need is a good first step. Also, consider getting a Feng Shui consultation and don’t be afraid to ask the expert some questions. Feng Shui has a very interesting philosophy behind it and it can be effective in helping you organize your space meaningfully. With its 3000-year-old tradition, Feng Shui is something worth giving a shot.

~ Organize your time wisely
It seems as we’re all focused on our businesses more than ever. It may be because it’s a big competition out there, or due to the fact that capitalism is reaching its peak. You have to learn how to organize your time and prioritize. Many people spend their free time doing nothing but staring at their computers or TV screens. Leisure time is very important and you have to make it meaningful. Some say that the Western civilization, its rapid development and cultural hegemony - caused a certain division in a man, dividing him in two halves. The first half is his body, the second his mind. Popular psychology interprets this as a reason of many modern mental illnesses appearing. You have to devote time to physical activity and do things that give you a sense of identity. Ancient Greeks knew how crucial it is to take care of your body and mind equally: exercising was one of the holistic ways to do that.

Take these simple tips into consideration the next time you feel overwhelmed with the tech era. Remember that world is not good or bad by itself. It all depends on how you adapt to it.

- Roxana.

5 Autumn lipsticks

Heeey lovebirds! I hope all is well. I'm a big lipstick lover so it's no surprise that I own way too much lipsticks. Can a girl really have too much lipsticks? I guess no one is perfect. I love Autumn. I love the weather & the colours. It's one of my favourite seasons. I thought about it and decided to share with you my favourite lipsticks for Autumn. What better way to honour Autumn ? Plus, it's a good way to give a shot out to my lipsticks lovers friends. By the way, this could be a good way to discover new great lipsticks. Let's be honest, I'm always on the hunt for (a) new lipstick(s)!

✧ NYX, soft matte lip cream - ROME. ~ It's very natural. It's more of an everyday shade. The kind of shade that would be perfect for work or school. - Kinda your lips but better. It would look good paired with smokey eyes.

✧ Rimmel, The only 1 lipstick - UNDER MY SPELL. ~ AKA my purple long lasting lipstick. I love it. It's a beautiful bold shade. It lasts quite a long time on my lips. It's not drying. It's my favourite lipstick for Autumn.

✧ Adopt, lip & kiss velvet - Beauty and the red. ~ The most recent lipstick in my collection. It's the only French lipstick here. I'm sure you could get it elsewhere but it has the perfect berry/dark red shade. It looks good with everything. It's bold but not too bold.

✧ STILA, Stay all day liquid lipstick - BACCA. ~ My favourite liquid lipstick for Autumn. I did a review on my Stila all day liquid lipstick. I love the shade. It lasts for a long time and I use it as sort of a statement lipstick.

✧ L'ORÉAL, Color Riche - 16 place vendôme. ~ I've fallen in and out of love with this one. I can only wear it paired with my MAC lipliner underneath. It's a dark red. It's not very matte. It has more of a lustrous finish. So it's not my usual lipstick choice... It's quite creamy as well. It's a lovely red to transition into Autumn.

from top to bottom: rimmel (under my spell) - NYX (rome) - ADOPT (beauty and the red) - Stila (BACCA) - L'OREAL (16 PLACE VENDOME).

Let me know what you think. Do you enjoy those lipsticks? What are your favourite lipsticks for Autumn? I can't wait to read your thoughts. Let me know in the comments below. Thank you for reading and I'll see you soon ♥ x

new beauty bits + first impressions

Hi lovebirds. I hope all is well in your world. I hopped on the Bodyshop wagon. They've come up with some gorgeous things. I decided to only pick out two things. I don't really need that much skincare products. I'm pretty content with my actual skincare routine. In this blog, I'll share with you my first impressions on two products : one of their brand new face mask and their pore-cleansing exfoliator.

✧ The Bodyshop, Himalayan charcoal purifying glow mask. ~
I've tried this mask before. I received a sample when it came out. It's a 100% vegan clay mask. It has been formulated without parabens, paraffin, silicone or mineral oil. It's supposed to 'Refine and revive your skin'. Unfortunately, I'ven't tried it for enough time to actually see its effect.

✧ The Bodyshop, Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Exfoliator. ~
This product smells nice. It kind of smells like seaweed. It doesn't look too harsh. It has jojoba beads and seaweed in it so it should be pretty good. It claims to 'Refine your pores whilst deeply cleansing your skin' which is what I'm looking for in a exfoliator so we will see how it goes.

Have you tried anything from the Bodyshop ? What new beauty bits did you pick up? I would love to know your thoughts. Let me know in the comments below :) Thank you for reading and I'll catch up with you soon ♥ x

Guerlain, So Volume Mascara { review }

Heeeeyyy lovelies! I hope you're doing amazingly well. It's Friyay! The weekend is upon us. I hope you've great plans for this weekend. It's the very first weekend of october. By the way, who's excited for Autumn? 'Cause I'm. Seriously, Summer should be behind us by now. It's Autumn's turn. Anyway, I recently picked up this mascara from Guerlain. I thought I would do a little review for you, my lovebirds!

Brand description :
A charming trump card, an irresistible weapon of seduction, Cils d’Enfer So Volume intensifies and enhances the eyes. Sophisticated variation of the mascara phenomenon, it delivers incredible instant volume, of a deep black. From the first sweep of the brush, the gentle, creamy and elastic formula creates significantly thicker lashes. Infused with a conditioning action to protect the lashes, it is enriched with adhesive oils to prevent running or smudging and ultra-glossy oils for an intense black. Its fine elastomer brush weaves in to easily catch and precisely coat lashes one by one – even the shortest and those at the very corners of the eye – to offer sensational curve. Lashes are coated and sculpted to perfection, with no risk of excess. Stunning captivating volume, magnetic black.

My opinion :
This mascara is called Maxi Lash So Volume - Intense Volume, Deep black mascara. You can buy it at John Lewis or House of Fraser. It retails at £25.00. The packaging is in a gorgeous gold. I'm not a big lover of gold but damn that mascara is hot! The first thing I noticed, while using it, was how dark it made my lashes. No other mascara managed to get them to be that dark. It doesn't hurt my sensitive eyes. And boy, I've tried many irritating mascaras! There are absolutely no clogging as the brush treats lashes individually. It's comfortable to wear and lasts well. Besides, it's easy to remove. I don't know how, in few months, I'm going to be able to say goodbye to that mascara...

Do I recommend this product?
Yes absolutely, it's definitely one of my favourite mascaras! I'll be using this beauty everyday.

Oui, absolument, ce mascara est définitivement un de mes préférés. En plus, il est très naturel!

Have you tried this Mascara? What is your current mascara? I can't wait to read your comments down below. Thank you for reading and I'll see you soon ♥ x

September faves

Hello my lovebirds! I hope all is well. October is here. It doesn't really feel like Autumn but well autumn is here. The beginning of October seemed like a good moment to share my monthly favourites. I haven't done it in a while but a little monthly round up of my faves products seemed quite overdue.

EVE LOM mask. You probably remember my review. If not, you can find it here. I've been using this mask every week. Definitely one of my favourite skincare item!
Luna Play, FOREO. I did a review of this baby pink beauty earlier this month. I've been using it once a week ever since! It's definitely more than just a pretty face.

Precision Eyeliner, KIKO. I haven't made a review of this eyeliner but it reconciled with eyeliner. I go through phases of wearing eyeliner and not wearing any at all. I've been wearing it almost everyday since I bought it! It's easy to apply and lasts all day. What more can a girl ask for?
ADOPT, Lip & Kiss Velvet Lipstick. My wonderful and amazing friend - this one is for you, M.! - got me this jumbo lipstick for my birthday. It's from a French brand called Adopt. It lasts quite a long time on my lips and the color is absolutely gorgeous. I was seriously impressed by this lipstick! Way to go girl!

- HAIR ~
My GHD vintage pink, straighteners. My straighteners were broken. My mom was kind enough to buy me new straighteners for my birthday. In fact, she didn't pick any straighteners. She picked my holy grail of straighteners : GHD. I've been drooling over this beauty and dreaming of owning this for about a year or so now. I'm sooo amazed by how fast it's warm and how it doesn't damage my hair. Besides, £10 from the sale of every ghd V electric pink styler will go to support breast cancer research which is a big bonus... Talk about life changing magic!

Reading : Blogs I've loved reading include : From Roses ; Emily Trinh, The Glam Surge & Along Came Kathy. Sharing is caring and those girls are amazing! I love reading their blogs!
Watching : Chelsea's Talkshow. I've been watching her talkshow since it started. I love Chelsea's persona. We are so much alike in someways. If you haven't watched her series : Chelsea does, I would advise you to do so. Her talkshow is very funny as well!

✧ My new grey cardigan, ASOS. Yes, I'm weak. I caved and got myself that cardigan from my wishlist. I dare to think it's not just me. I think we've all been hit by this consumer society. I wish I could say I regret buying it but I've been wearing it a lot so sorry not sorry, dear bank account!
✧ My new boots, MAJE. Unfortunately, I couldn't find them online but I got those beautiful boots for my birthday. I think I took the last pair. They were waiting for me. It was my last birthday gift. (#spoiled) It was a last chance, last items from the Summer sales kind of thing. I did an unboxing of this parcel on my snapchat. By the way, my snapchat username is serenbird23 - in case you were wondering.

I can't wait to know what are your monthly favourites. What have you been loving this month? Let me know in the comments below :) Thank you for reading and I'll catch up with you soon ♥ x

SEPHORA MASKS { review }

Hiiii there, lovebirds! I hope all is well for you. I picked up those sheet masks on Tuesday. I wanted to do a review for you. I'm so intrigued by those. They are everywhere at the moment. Sheet masks are trending. Beauty trends come and go so I decided to find out what the fuss was about. I'm not that into sheet masks. I don't like the idea of having a sheet of paper stuck to my face... Yep, I'm THAT WEIRD. I mean, don't you find it a bit weird that you have to put a piece of paper on your face ?

Brand description :

1. EYE MASK. Reduces signs of fatigue, awakens, and tones the eye for a rested, energetic look.
2. FOOT MASK. Comforts and nourishes dry feet and softens rough areas with almond extract.

How to use them :
1. Suggested Usage:
-Remove the protective film from both white fiber patches.
-Position the patches under each eye area, as shown in the diagram on the package.
-Leave them on for 15 minutes, then remove and gently massage any excess product into the skin.
-No need to rinse.

2. Suggested Usage:
-Put the socks on clean, dry feet.
-Peel the paper film off the tab, and then fold around the ankle and press to close well.
-Leave socks on for 20 minutes.
-Gently massage any excess product into the skin.
-No need to rinse.

My opinion :
1. I used it exactly as advised above and didn't notice any change. I have very severe dark circles and this eye mask did nothing at all. Maybe this product would be more useful to those who don't have that much dark circles. It had a lovely smell and it was funny to use. I'm so disappointed that it didn't work on me... It wasn't something for me. I would be curious to know if anyone tried this and had a good result?! Let me know if you did!

2. Well, let me tell you, 20 minutes with something on your feet, feels like forever. I didn't want to walk with the socks/foot mask so I stayed put. Oh boy, it wasn't easy! - yes, it's as funny as it sounds ahahah. I love the smell of this Almond foot mask. I kind of fancy almond in general so I might be biased. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any change. At first, my feet seemed softer but after a few moments they were back to their normal state. It didn't lasted for more than 20 minutes. I feel like my Heel Genius from Soap & Glory does a better job!

Do I recommend this product?
1. Not really unless you get occasional dark circles. Then, maybe this eye mask could work on you.
2. I won't be buying this foot mask ever again. I'm so disappointed! Even if it smells great in the end, it doesn't really work so what's the point?

Sadly, I won't be buying those Sephora Sheet masks any time soon. Luckily, it wasn't terribly expensive but still it's quite disappointing. I would be curious to know if anyone tried those masks and had different results. It might simply be that those masks weren't a good fit for me.
Share your thoughts on those sheet masks in the comments below. Have you tried anything from that Sephora sheet Mask range? What is your favourite sheet mask? Thanks for reading and I'll see you soon ♥

Birthday haul

Hi lovelies! Last Thursday, I turned 23. Some of you asked to see a birthday haul, so here are my wonderful gifts. I'm not going to lie, I was spoiled. I have amazing friends and family. I'm so blessed. I love gifts : receiving and giving gifts. I love picking gifts and buying things for people.
I didn't do anything special for my birthday as it was my first day in a new university. However, on Saturday, I went out for burgers and ice cream with my mom and on Sunday, I went to the restaurant - again, yep, I feel about 10 pounds heavier but food is life. I love food. - with one of my closest friend. On overall, it was a lovely way to start my 23rd year. By the way, dear 23rd year, you better be good.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling - for now. As, I said before, no desire to brag. I simply want to share with you what my golden people got me for my 23rd birthday!

When is your birthday? What was the best present you ever got? Let me - and my lovely readers - know in the comments below :) Thanks for reading and I'll see you soon ♥

*new* mini eraser sponges by RT { review }

Hola my lovebirds! I hope your week went by smoothly. I hope you had an amazing week. My birthday was yesterday. I can't wait to show you everything I got! Spoiler alert : I WAS SPOILED ! (pun entended) You probably had a sneek peak - of my day - on my snapchat or instagram story.
Anyway, today's post is a review of the new mini eraser sponges by Real Techniques. I ordered them online alongside my new Miracle Complexion Sponge. By the way, do you replace your makeup sponges every three months? I'm just asking for a friend...

Brand description :
' Erase makeup mishaps with the 2 pack of Miracle Mini Eraser Sponges from Real Techniques. The mini purple sponges can be used damp or dry and boast flat edges, which are designed to help erase, rounded sides to buff and blend out makeup and a precision tip for a targeted sweep. The Miracle sponges are an essential tool for your makeup bag, with the ability to sweep away eyeshadow that falls under the eye, erase eyeliner gone wrong, wipe away mascara smudges and blend away over applied blush or highlighter, resulting in a more professional finish to each of your makeup looks. Latex Free! '

My thoughts on those makeup sponges:
I put mine under water. It went slighly bigger. I was actually quite amazed with the quality of the sponge. It's so soft. It's definitely my favourite way to apply concealer. Those sponges have the perfect shape and size. It's easy to wash as well. I wasn't sure if I should wash it straight away or not so I waited a couple of days before washing it off. I used my beauty blender solid cleanser to wash it. Then, I rinced it with trepid - or hot, depending on how it went... you know how it's, sometimes in life, you got to go with the flow - water.
I'm genuinely impressed. I like them more than my usual beauty blender. I know, there are those teams on the blogging community. People either like the beauty blender or the Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge. And you know what? I can't choose. I love both of my babies those makeup sponges equally. I definitely understand what the rave is all about.

Do I recommend this product?
Yes, 100% yes. If you fancy a new beauty sponge then go for it! Those sponges are going to be very helpful. By the way, purple sponges, which kind of look weird are always a good bonus in my book! You know how much I like weirdness.

Have you tried these mini make up sponges? Do you like the Real Techniques makeup sponges? Share your own thoughts, in the comments below. Thanks for reading and I'll see you soon ♥

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up | book review

Hi lovelies! I hope everything is okay for you. I finally finished reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up. I sure took my sweet time reading it but it was very informative. I've done a few books reviews in the past. Boy, it was so long ago! I had just started blogging. Now, I feel like my style has changed quite a lot! Anyway, no more rambling. - well, to be honest, when have I ever stopped rambling? Yup, I can't remember either...

' Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you’ll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever. The KonMari Method, with its revolutionary category-by-category system, leads to lasting results. In fact, none of Kondo’s clients have lapsed (and she still has a three-month waiting list).
With detailed guidance for determining which items in your house “spark joy” (and which don’t), this international bestseller featuring Tokyo’s newest lifestyle phenomenon will help you clear your clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home—and the calm, motivated mindset it can inspire. '

I enjoyed reading that book. I love how Marie Kondon writes. It's fluid. It contains extracts from her personnal life and her experience as a tidying expert. You can find several chapters organized by theme. The book gradually takes you on your tidy journey. She shares tips and tricks on how organize and simplify your home. I love how she somehow gives us pieces of her Japanese heritage. She brushes through the Japanese culture and tradition. She is guiding us through what she calls the ' sparking joy of tidying up. ' If you're anything like me - and Marie Kondo, yes, we're pals now. well not really but... - that is to say you love pretty and tidy things then you'll probably like this book. After all, it's a damn book about tidying up!

As much as I want to say yes, it's just a book. I'm a tidy person. I've always ended up tidying and caring after people. However, I do feel like this book has influenced my life. I can relate to Marie Kondo. She fights to make the world a better place, a tidy house at a time!
This book had a lot of success when it came out. It was a #1 NY Times bestseller with more than 3 million copies sold. I find that fascinating. In the end, her book probably changed lives. - and most definitely, her book must have been a life-changing experience for her. So that's always good!

Have you read this book? Have you read any books that changed your views on life ?
Thanks for reading and I'll see you soon ♥

5 facts about me

Hi my loves! I hope all is well in your world. If not, don't despair, it gets better. It always does... I mean, it has to get better! I thought I would post a more personnal blog. It has been a couple of days since I've actually done a litte life update. I might do one really soon. Anyhow, here are a few facts - you might not know about me :
Coucou, mes amours!

1. I'm bossy. I simply can't help it. I always end up bossing people around. I don't really mean anything by it. So sorry if I ever bossed you around! I guess that's a burden we have to bear together ahahah
I also love pretty and expensive things. I know that it's not something everyone can understand. I tend to surround myself with pretty and expensive things. I love being amongst pretty things. I would rather own one expensive thing than 200 cheap things. It's just the way I am. I splurge on things and well, who gives a shit. I work so I can do whatever the f* I want with my money.

2. I've been considering starting a youtube channel but I'm too much of a chicken to actually do it. I'm already self-critical as it is. I'm afraid my french accent is going to show. - trust me, no one wants to hear that...

3. I don't have a lot of friends and I like it that way. I would rather have one friend that I see every weekend than a thousand friends that are always busy and can't be here when I need them. I'm a very loyal person so I expect people to be there when I was there for them. Sadly, they always tend to vanish. So yeah, real and smaller circle of friends, it's then!

4. I'm sooo short. So short, I'm often mistaken for a child. Don't you dare laugh! It's no fun... Trust me. You're always too short. You wear heels all the time just so you'll have a proper - average - height. You often have trouble reaching out for things. It's quite difficult to find things suit you perfectly. You have that baby face that makes people think you're the nicest person in the world. - Hint : I'm not nice. Or at least, I like to think I'm not nice.

5. I want to live in the UK or in Ireland. It's THE big plan. That 10 years plan you've had since you were old enough to make any plans. I want to travel the world but I also want a place to call my home. I've always felt at home when I was in the UK or in Ireland. In fact, I don't think I've ever felt more at home anywhere else.

Anyway, I definitely want you to get to know me better but I also want to get to know you better. So share with me, in the comments below, a few facts about you. Come on! Don't let me stand - on my own - awkwardly in the corner... Come join me!
