Do you exactly know what organic and natural cosmetics are and what are the differences? Have you ever tried them? Well, you should, and after you tried them you will know which one fits you best.

Organic
Organic products are the ones which are made from only natural ingredients - they are grown and taken care of without any usage of ingredients such as synthetic pesticides, petroleum fertilizers or sewage sludge fertilizers, and it must not be a genetically modified organism (GMO.)

The process
The organic products rely on the ingredients which determine the quality of finished products and they are usually authentic organic cosmetic products. The process of making the organic product has to be respectful to the environment and only physical transformations are allowed such as drying of the plants, filtration and purification, wild gathering, cold pressure, etc. so that all the properties would be saved. The products usually have labels such as USDA (United States Departments of Agriculture) and NOP (Natural Organic Program), and they are required to contain 70-94% organic ingredients.

Ingredients
For example, if one of the natural components of product is water, you should know that there are probably some preservatives which can be natural such as citric acid or parabens and there will always be some kind of a label (for example USDA), or if there are too many words and ingredients that you cannot read or pronounce, they are not completely organic. Ingredients are identified by prefixes, syllables and words such as- “Polyoxyethylene” or “Polyethylene glycol” that they are synthetic and maybe harmful.
Our skin absorbs about 60% of everything we put on it and if you have problems with it, some kind of rash, acne, etc. you can use organic beauty products. Vegetable oil (avocado, jojoba), vegetable non-drying-oils (almond oil), vegetable butter (cocoa), beeswax, carnauba wax, liquid wax (jojoba), are just some of the organic ingredients which can help you treating your skin in the right way. When it comes to makeup, especially if you have a sensitive skin, always opt for organic. Cosmetic experts from Dr. Hauschka carefully choose the best from the nature and implement this in high quality organic products, which are worldwide known.

Natural
Natural products (“derived from nature”) are the ones which are made of plants and minerals that occur in nature and which are minimally processed and not artificially produced. They are not necessarily organic but they can be. Some products can be altered with preservatives, perfumes and other artificial components and those fillers can be used for preserving the product to last longer. Although some of them are made in the laboratory, skin products can be very effective and safe as well. Some of the “hand-made” chemicals can actually help us very much.

Ingredients and the process
In order to preserve the vital nutrients of the product, preservatives should be used. For example, if you take a skin care product that contains apple extracts, how long do you think it will last until it gets rotten? So, they must be used if you want them to last longer. Also, natural products don’t include ingredients such as petrochemicals, parabens, sodium lauryl and laureth sulfates, phthalates, synthetic dyes and synthetic colors, though it is possible to create a synthetic version of natural ingredients such as Vitamin E.

Some of the studies have shown that activities in many natural ingredients are beneficial for personal skin care, however you should always pay attention to the ingredients and to your skin type, because those are the important factors when buying the right and high-quality product for yourself. Youngblood makeup would be the best choice if you opt for natural makeup. Natural skin care ingredients can include jojoba, safflower oil, rose hip seed oil, shea butter, beeswax, aloe vera, etc.
All in all, now that you know the differences between organic and natural cosmetic you can choose which one you like and which suits you best for your skin type. Don’t be afraid to try something new, because maybe you will like it very much.
