Heyyy my lovelies! I'm here today with something special. This post is brought to you by Zara. You can find her on highstylelife :) Without further due, I'll let you read her insightful article! I will see you soon and I hope you'll like this guest post and reading her overview on charcoal ♥
Although charcoal has been around for longer than we can all remember, the craze for it in the beauty world has only recently reached its peak. In search of the Holy Grail beauty products, especially those natural ones, we often forget to stop and do the research before jumping on the popular bandwagon of the day. This is why it is important to do some digging and see whether every trend, charcoal included, is worth pursuing and if the supposed benefits live up to the hype.
A Path to Pure and Glowing Skin
It seems as though a large number of cosmetics companies have taken note of the positive effects of using activated charcoal in skincare. However, if you have been paying closer attention to Youtube, you have seen how painful it is to actually peel the mask of your face, and people are left wondering whether they have any skin left. Still, as many skin experts agree that charcoal really does wonders to absorb excess oil and purify skin this beauty tool should not be dismissed yet. So, instead of turning to the now infamous peel-off, you can make your own mask with the addition of only water and make a mud mask that purifies and your skin safely. Another great solution is to leave your face in the hands of professionals and book a charcoal-based facial with someone who knows what they are doing. With all said, when it comes to your precious face, the verdict is: yes, this ingredient can do wonders, but make sure you use it properly.
The Picture-Perfect Smile
By now, you are probably all too well familiar with the alternative method of teeth whitening using activated charcoal. However, more often than not this alternative method is not just ineffective, but according to Dr. Peter Auster it can even be potentially harmful. While absorbing some of the stains, it might also strip your teeth off the good bacteria, causing more long-term harm than good. Australians are known for their love of natural and alternative methods, but they are also one of the top nations when it comes to dental health. They still largely rely on safe and effective conventional methods, such as the internal bleaching procedure. This is a well-known method of whitening the teeth, done by professionals in a controlled environment. If you are considering this procedure, the first step would be to turn to experts, such as Australian Dental Specialists, for advice. You shouldn't turn to using activated charcoal on your own, at least not without careful professional supervision from your dentist.
Scrub That Bod
If it can do wonders in purifying your face, why not indulge in a full and deep whole-body cleanse using charcoal as one of the ingredients. Since the texture of charcoal is slightly grainy, you can safely mix it with honey, essential oils, or a body wash of your choice and exfoliate that bod. And since there are no suggestions or evidence to the negative side effect, the verdict is yes, charcoal makes for a mean body scrub, so happy and safe scrubbing gals!
The Care for Healthy Hair
If you have the type of hair that gets greasy quickly at the root, but at the same time you are combating dry ends, using an activated charcoal hair mask could be a good solution for your problems, as it is powerful in absorbing oil. It is also beneficial for those fighting dandruff, and flat, lifeless hair. There is however, a catch. If you have a sensitive scalp, this routine might do more harm than good as it may strip your hair of good oils that naturally moisturize and nourish your hair. The best advice here is to give it a test run by adding a teaspoon of activated charcoal to your shampoo and use it as you normally would and compare the pre and post results. If you only see positive effects, then you are safe to commit to a charcoal based shampoo or mask.
Beauty From Within
The final craze under examination in this guide is the usage of activated charcoal for health purposes – putting your tummy at ease and collecting and absorbing any toxins related to food or alcohol poisoning. First off, when it comes to a poisoning of any kind, charcoal should be prescribed and administered by a medical professional. Doctors know exactly what dosage is required and allowed, and how often it should be taken, so leave it to them. As for regular detoxes and reduction of bloating, the only risk is that of an overdose, which can result in severe cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea, so before you buy this supplement consult your physician on the dosage and frequency of usage for the sake of benefits, but also safety.
Final Words
With everything said, it is safe to conclude that one element is not always the solution to all your problems. Charcoal can be highly beneficial as long as you are well-informed on how and in which forms to use it.

Hey my birds. I hope you're having a lovely time. I'm loving this winter weather. I love comfy and soft sweater, big scarves, booties and hats. So yeah, baby, it's cold outside and I love it.
I'm having a bit of time today so I thought I would chat with you. Christmas is almost here. Only a few days to go before the weekend. This year, I don't have a winter break but I have a little trip planned for next weekend and I'm coming home for Christmas.
I've not been home in months so I can't wait to see everybody. It should be fun.
I haven't blogged in a while and I've missed it so damn much. I've missed you, my lovebirds.
Let's get back on topic, shall we?
We all know how much I love rambling but well, I'm here to talk about Christmas. I'm not overly found of Christmas but I like buying presents for people and getting to see my family. I'm hoping this Christmas will be full of family time. Anyway, we all know how much of a ball of stress Christmas can be so here are my few tips on how to survive Christmas :
1. If you haven't bought all your presents - yes you're in deep sh**. Good luck finding a gift. There is always gift cards. We all know how much thoughts are put into those ahahah You might still be able to get NEXT DAY delivery though or you can always go into shops like the rest of us.
2. Eat light cause babe, your belly is going to be huuuuge in a few days. You might even have to eat twice your size... So prepare yourself physically and mentally.
3. There is 50% chance you'll have to sit next to that relative you absolutely hate and is always so damn rude. I would advise to keep your mouth full at all time or to keep his/her glass full.
4. To answer those annoying - and equally tricky - questions we always get at Christmas, I have only one trick, ladies and gents, surprise them. Go with the most choking, suprising, unsettling answer you could probably think of. I can assure you, it'll shut them up faster than you can slip that wine. Oh boy, it's so fun.
5. Chill, babe. That new year party is just around the corner. Besides, let's think for a moment about all the presents you'll get and how lovely it'll be to see everybody...
If you have any other tips or any Christmas story, please do share in the comments below. I'd love to read what you have to say :) Thank you for reading and I'll talk to you soon x

Hey my loves! I have internet again. Yaaaay! Can I get an amen? I've yet to catch up on everything but I'm getting there. I should get a bit of time on Sunday to write again. I miss blogging so much. Anyway, I thought I'd be back with a lifestyle post on how to get things done. I'm a big believer of doing things ahead instead of last minute.
FYI : There is nothing wrong with doing things last minute tho... We've all been there...
As it is a busy time of year, here are a few tips to help you navigate:
1. Sit yourcute ass down.
2. Shut off your tempting electronics - yes, it means your phone too. Sorry not sorry, dear!
3. Take a deep breath and focus
4. Write down all the things you need to do
5. BREATH AGAIN. - Yep, I saw you. For real this time, cutiepie!
6. Make some tea or coffee
7 Sit down again and while you drink your coffee/tea, try to define an order
8. Do the ones you hate less or are quicker to do first
9. Keep going, BABE! The sooner the better.
Good luck, lovebirds!
Do you have any tips on how to get sh** done ? How do you proceed? I'd love to know and I'm sure others here would love to hear it as well. Let us know in the comments below! Thank you for reading and I'll talk to you soon ♥ x

Hey lovebirds! I hope all is well with you. I'm back at it again with a new little guide. One of you gave me a brillant idea. I'll share with you my monthly favourites things from Etsy. As requested here are my favourite Etsy picks this month :
Coucou mes lovebirds!
Would you be interested to know what my favs etsy shops are? :) Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for reading and I'll see you soon ♥

Hey my lovebirds! I hope all is well with you. I decided to change my schedule. I was supposed to post a review today but I wanted to write about some other love of mine : Stationery. I'm a big fan of stationery. I could buy a dosen things and still feel like I need more. It's quite the addiction, isn't it? Anyway, I wrote down my favourite shops and picks from those shops. I hope you will enjoy this little roundup. Thank you for reading ! ♥
1. HEMA
I discovered this shop a few years ago. I think it was about two years ago. It has shifted since then. I feel like it now aims towards a younger clientele. However, I still managed to find a few gorgeous pieces. Besides, it's the perfect place to shop for basic stationery items as well.
2. OHH DEER
I'm a huge fan of this shop. I love pretty much everything on there. It's so unique and lovely. It arrived soooo fast as well. Seriously, if you've not bought anything from Ohh deer, you're missing out. They are also available on Asos and Urban Outfitters.
3. RIFLE PAPER CO.
This is such an iconic brand. I mean they're everywhere. You can fin them on their official website and a few other shops now sell that brand as well. It's simply the prettiest design. It has this vintage and girly feel to it. I love their design so freaking much. To be honest, I kinda wish I could own eveything ahah Too bad, it's so pricey.
4. KIKK K
Kikk K is a sweddish stationery brand. It has stylish and -quite pricey- scandinavian designs. My heart melts every time I look at their website. Here are a few picks from KIKK K :
5. ETSY
I tend to shop at Etsy as often as I can. I might be wrong but I believe that by doing so I'm giving money to small businesses, to people who strongly believe in their arts and want to share it with the rest of the world. They do unique pieces and they can come from all around the world. As much as I can, I'll always choose those people over the big companies. Here are a few of my favourite stationery picks from etsy:
What about you? What are your favourite picks from those shops ? What are your favourite places to shop for stationery? Let me know in the comments below. I'll see you soon ♥

Heeeey my lovebirds! How are you feeling today? I decided to talk about skincare. I've had dark circles for years now. My dark circles appeared about 4 years ago. They were pretty bad back then. Think, dark purple - almost blackish - under eye circles. It was a real struggle. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with sleep and more to do with genetics.
As always, bare in mind, that is little guide, isn't made by a professional. Those facts are only the results of countless hours of research and drawn out of my personnal experiences. In other words, no skincare expert here but it doesn't make it less true. It's simply my point of view and a list of things who worked in my particular case. I'm sharing it with you, in the hope that it will help someone, who like me, is struggling with dark circles.
WHAT ARE DARK CIRCLES ?
Dark circles are those dark shadows that appears under your eyes. It can be caused by lack of sleep, genetics or even aging. Unfortunately, to this day, no magic formula has been invented to erase dark circles on the long-term. However, you can reduce those threatening shadows.
HOW TO CARE FOR DARK CIRCLES ?
One very important step is moisturize. Keep your under eye area hydrated by gently patting an eye cream under yours eyes. My favourite under eyes creams are : Shiseido INTENSIVE Anti Dark Circles Eye Cream and Origins GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream. You can also cool down your eyes with a cold washcloth or cucumber slices. I've also heard of hydrating eye patch. I don't know what it's worth... I've yet to try those methods.
HOW TO HIDE THEM ?
I think it was last year that I explained - in details - how to properly hide your dark circles. I was at the beginning of my beauty journey. I feel like I've learn a lot more since then. It doesn't matter if you like to use your fingers, a beauty blender or a brush. I think it's important to pick the right shade of concealer. It shouldn't be too cakey, too dark or too light. It should be able to reduce the purpleish/brownish colour of your dark circles. And yet, still not look cakey. It's not an easy task. Like people, concealers are not perfect but here are a few of my favourite concealers : Nars radiant creamy concealer and Collection lasting perfection concealer. By the way, a few month ago, I did a review of that collection concealer.
Do you have any skincare issue? Do you have dark circles? What are your tips on how to care for dark circles? What your favourite concealers? Don't hesitate to share it with us! I'm sure it can be helpful to someone out there :) Thanks for reading and I will see you on wednesday! ♥

Heeey my lovebirds !
